Chand Welfare Foundation

Chand Welfare Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental and non-political, developmental organization of NWFP, working for the women and children development. Chand Foundation is an Urdu word meaning (Moon) a symbol of light, guidance and hope.

Chand Foundation work in the following thematic areas:
– Education
– Health
– Advocacy & Human Rights
– Income Generation

CWF is facilitating children with free education. We running two programs:
1) Education for children with disability
2) Education for child labor

CWF is also focusing on health issues of women & children. As people living here are mostly belongs to rural area where literacy rate is very low & they are also unaware of their hygienic conditions as they are living below to the poverty line so they do not take account of their health conditions. CWF is potentially working on this & constantly aware them by advocacy campaigns & seminars etc.

Chand Welfare Foundation has different vocational centers in different areas in KPK Peshawar to encourage women to earn & enhancing their skills. We not only improving their skills but also holding sessions to make them aware of their rights.

Hsin-hsin Yang (International Judge of Asian Girls’ Rights Award 2013 & 2014)

East Asia_Taiwan_楊欣欣 Hsin-hsin YangHsin-hsin Yang is Lieutenant Governor of District 31 (Taiwan) of Zonta International, a global organization striving to advance the status of women worldwide. Zonta International, formed in 1919, has provided training, education, health, sanitation, agricultural and micro-credit assistance to women, primarily through projects implemented by the agencies of the United Nations and other recognized non-governmental organizations. Its 2012-2014 international service projects include Liberia Fistula Program and Elimination of New Pediatric HIV Infection and Prevention and Response to Survivors of Domestic and Gender Based Violence in Rwanda. Zonta, based in Chicago, also makes efforts to protect the human rights of girls and women and reduce violence against them. It also offers scholarships to young women studying in the fields of aeronautics, engineering, and business and awards young women who distinguish themselves in public service. District 31 supports Zonta’s causes through donations and active involvement in various local, regional and international service programs assisting underprivileged women.

Mrs. Yang has been teaching journalism at National Taiwan University part-time since 1999 with focus on reading, translating and writing news in English to share with young people her reporting, translating and writing experiences. She had been correspondent/manager of the Taiwan Bureau of Agence France-Presse, a Paris-based international news agency. After 30 years of journalist career – first working for China Post in Taiwan and later AFP – Mrs. Yang retired to devote more time to education and social service work. She regularly helps young people who are eager to start a career in journalism and also serves as consultant for several media firms.

The SMART EDUCATION & WELFARE ASSOCIATION® (SEWA)

The SMART EDUCATION & WELFARE ASSOCIATION® (SEWA) is registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act of 1860. SEWA was founded on 2nd December 2009 by a national media excellence award winning television journalist and social activist, Mr. Parvez Sagar. The idea behind the foundation was to make people from weaker sections of society aware of their basic rights, so as to empower them in securing their due share of the resources powering their country. This foundation is committed to strengthening the weaker socio-economic class by educating them and providing proper health services in their local areas. Presently, the funds for running this organization come from informal contributions made by way of its members and a few supporters. Its office is located at Hasan Colony, Old Kalsiya Road, Saharanpur (UP). In addition to providing health and education services, essential aspects related to the environment, child rights, women’s empowerment, vocational training, education for special children, and social services including a cloth and a book bank, etc are also integral parts of SEWA’s working philosophy. It has been continuously working and rendering its help and support without any government funding.
